# Flight mission for a drone — HUNTERRA

> Draw an area on the hunting ground map, pick a drone and a mission type, and send it to the controller — you plan at the computer and fly in the field.

Flight missions are planned in the web app on a computer: you draw an area on the hunting ground map, the app works out the flight time, size and distance, and you choose the drone, the mission type and the flight settings. Once sent, the mission shows up in the drone controller under the Cloud tab, where you start it. This requires signing in at least once from DJI Pilot 2 through Cloud Services to [drone.hunterra.eu](https://drone.hunterra.eu) — otherwise the mission has nowhere to go.

## Before your first mission

On the controller, open DJI Pilot 2, go to Cloud Services and sign in to [drone.hunterra.eu](https://drone.hunterra.eu) with the same account you use for HUNTERRA. That pairs the drone with your hunting ground and it appears in the list in the app. Until you sign in at least once, the app has nowhere to send the mission and the drone list stays empty.

1. **Open mission planning** In the hunting ground detail, click the three dots in the top right corner of the map and choose Plan a flight mission. Planning is only in the web app — you will not find it on the phone.
2. **Draw the area and pick a drone** Click on the map to outline the area the drone should cover. The app immediately estimates flight time, size and distance — and warns you when one battery will not be enough. On the right, pick a drone from your paired machines; each one shows the model, serial number, the ground it is paired in and whether it has a thermal camera. Draw again clears an area you are not happy with.
3. **Choose the mission type and settings** The mission type decides what the drone does in flight. Below it you set the altitude, speed, image overlap and the temperature threshold — the threshold switches between values above it and below it.
4. **Send the mission** Send uploads the mission to the cloud. The app confirms it is ready to download to the controller and lists its name, type and settings. Remember the name — that is what you look for on the controller.
5. **Download the mission on the controller** On the controller, open DJI Pilot 2, go to the mission list and switch to the Cloud tab. The mission is there under the name from the previous step. We recommend downloading it to the controller's local storage — the drone then adjusts the flight settings to its own configuration and does not rely on a cloud connection mid-flight.

## Three mission types

- **Game** — A patrol mission over the drawn area. The drone sends only the findings, not the whole video, so the game shows up as points on the hunting ground map. It needs a drone with a thermal camera, which is why the type is marked Thermal only.
- **People** — Also a patrol mission, but looking for people. Findings are evaluated by AI and sent to the map the same way as game. Useful for searches and for checking whether someone is moving around the ground.
- **Mapping** — Instead of looking for findings, it covers the area so the images can be stitched into an orthophoto map. Processing is done to order — prices and scope are in the pricing under map services. Mapping missions work only with DJI drones; Autel does not support them.

The mission does not reach the controller on its own and the drone will not take off by itself. Always download it on the controller and confirm the start by hand — HUNTERRA plans the route, the flying stays with you.
